Bats Rock to the Colany Club,yes quite a haul the farthest ive ever paddled.It was a great day out ,all the kids and parents had a ball,every one compleated the distance,Brian actualy paddeled from Miami beach to bats rock for a warm up before the main event.in a word superman.however his new race board is 14 ft long and resembles a race canoe.It was nice to see all the vaired equipment .and take a look at all the diffrent paddles.the paddles that look my fancy were the C4 carbon and `the Kaiola Shaka puu carbon light and strong.boards C4 s looked good .I used my trusty 11 ft infinity surf tech along with a surftech fiber class paddle a bit heavier but the blade is quite big so you can pull a bit more water if you have the strenth.the inifanity worked well on the day and i came in about 6th place ,yes i did suprise myself and a few other fellow stand up paddle boarders.The surf tech Infinaty 11 ft has let me learn how to stand up paddle ,taken me out into the waves,and now done very respectable in a SUP week end frendly race ,did i say friendly well at the end when we all got feed and watered.Yes Brian thanks for the wonderful day out ,good food and friendly atmosphere at the Colany Club from all of us at dread or dead .i hope you do it again next year or maybe make it into an event all the guys at dread or dead want to do it next time.Russell
