West coast was big but lacked` direction evrey break was working on the right and the swell did not get passed Sandy Lane .Matthew and myself ended up at Frias Well we got there at 10 am and found Zed and a few others out there. but by this time the swell was already droping.Maycocks was a mess.but the outer reef seemed large and looked surfable if you had a big board Matthew and i had our guns but 1 hour of week Frias Well had taken its toll and we were ready to head home.we saw Kevin at mullins with his SUP taking a few rights the shore break looked way more scary.I saw Brian on his stand up paddle using the right hander at Port St Charles never before used to my knowledge not impressed ,i heard the guys did make it out to the outer reef at Maycocks all kinds of crazy stories going on there i know Chris Hill was involved at least his boat so ill get the low down on that later .one roumer going around is some one jumped a jet ski over a large wave whilst attempting tow ins and face planted the handle bars that had to hurt.I will take this moment to congratulate everyone that went out to challange Maycocks outer reef ive been there on my way to cowpens its scary especialy by yourself even on a jet ski the water realy moves out there..its good to see all the surfers getting envolved at all the diffrent levels .i do understand the place to be was Soup Bowl on the Friday it apparently was large and perfect looks like we all went the wrong way.Amazing thing the telephone never rings when you want it to.Well our team did not even get started as Red Bull pulled out the middle of last year leaving us a little ancious and a tourist tried to jump the wave breaker wall at Amerilis Hotel and riped out the bottom of the ski on Monday.Accident ,there are no accidents we just wernt ment to go Dread or Dead have to many men down right now.This is a good year for us to get well and re group.One thing i will say is i surfed Brandens for 2 weeks before the mega west coast swell and i had way more fun 4-6 ft solid ripping clean curling waves.However i would have liked to have a go at soup bowl on the Friday .Russell
